A Great Way to Start Your Day

Green smoothies are an excellent way to make sure that you are getting your proper servings of fruits and vegetables. I start every morning with a green smoothie or green juice. Some people can’t function without a morning cup of coffee. I on the other hand prefer to get my day started with a green smoothie. I am always changing the way I make my smoothies but I will share a simple recipe with you for one I made the other day.

My stomach was a little upset so I wanted to make sure that I had ginger in it to soothe my belly as well as lemon to help purge out whatever was ailing me because lemon is known to be a natural diuretic and it helps with keeping the body alkaline. Needless to say after drinking this, it wasn’t long before I was feeling like my normal self.

Ingredients:

2 apples

2 Celery Stalks

1 lemon

2 dates

1 piece of ginger about an inch and a half in size

1 avocado

5 mint leaves

2 handfuls of spinach leaves

2 tablespoons of liquid chlorella

1 tablespoon of spirulina powder

1 tablespoon of maca supplement powder

2 cups of ice

32 ounces of water

Put everything into your blender and blend on high for at least 2-3 minutes then pour into a glass and enjoy.

Also, don’t feel overwhelmed by some of the ingredients I have listed here such as spirulina or maca powder. Use what you have and make it work for you. I am just sharing what is in my smoothies but you aren’t required to make them the same way. By all means freestyle and see what flavorful combinations you are able to come up with.
